Isaiah 55:6-7
"Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that He may have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.”
Life often distracts us with busyness, worry, and self-reliance, pulling us away from the gentle voice of God calling us to Himself. Isaiah 55:6-7 reminds us of the urgency of seeking the Lord and the beauty of His abundant mercy.
The call to seek the Lord is both a gift and a challenge. It’s a gift because God invites us into His presence, promising that He is near and ready to be found. Yet it’s a challenge because it requires us to turn from our sinful ways and unrighteous thoughts—acknowledging that we need His forgiveness.
But what awaits us when we return to Him? Compassion and pardon. God doesn’t begrudge us when we come back to Him. Instead, He welcomes us with open arms, eager to restore and renew us. His forgiveness isn’t rationed; it’s lavish and overflowing.
Take a moment today to pause and reflect. Are there ways you’ve been avoiding God’s presence? Are there thoughts or habits that He’s asking you to surrender? Don’t wait for the perfect moment; seek Him now. Call upon Him while He is near.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your mercy and grace. Help me to seek You with my whole heart and to turn away from anything that separates me from You. Thank You for Your promise of compassion and forgiveness. Draw me closer to You each day. Amen.
